Tomatoes

Tomatoes are one of the most popular fresh market vegetables grown commercially in Kentucky. They can be grown using a wide variety of production systems including organic, greenhouse, high tunnel and field production. Markets often dictate the style of production system, so special attention should be paid to sales outlets. Markets should also be considered when selecting cultivars. For example, schools often want cherry tomato varieties, while high-end restaurants may prefer heirloom varieties.
