Kohlrabi

Another member of the Brassica family, kohlrabi is a versatile vegetable that can be eaten raw or cooked. The enlarged, globe-shaped, stem sits right above the soil line, with a flavor similar to mild, sweet broccoli or turnips. It has potential for fresh market in the fall and winter months with the recommendation of providing recipes when selling directly to the public.

Pest & Disease

A variety of insects can be very damaging to young transplants and can quickly desimate a crop. Early detection and prevention is critical. Good crop rotation and sanitation practices will reduce disease pressure.
