July is KY Grown Cut Flower Month The CCD is working with the Kentucky Horticulture Council to connect flower farmers to resources and to new customers through a month-long promotion of local flowers
KY Grown Cut Flower month is a month-long celebration of cut flower farms across the state of Kentucky. During the month, the Kentucky Horticulture Council will be featuring flower farms daily on the Kentucky Grown Cut Flower Promotion Facebook page.
There has been a significant increase in cut flower farms across Kentucky over the last several years. Because most of the flowers commercially available are imported, there is a market opportunity for local growers to step in and sell direct-to-consumer or through florists and wholesale accounts.
