Each July, we celebrate Kentucky Grown Cut Flower Month to highlight locally-grown cut flowers and the farmers who grow them. We celebrate in July because it’s the peak production and sales season for locally grown flowers in Kentucky — when farms are bursting with blooms, markets are full, and consumer demand is highest. Cut flower production has skyrocketed in Kentucky, as flowers are well-suited to small-scale production and are a good way to diversify or expand an existing farm operation. Our Kentucky Commercial Cut Flower Grower Directory features over 200 flower farms across the state.

As part of this campaign, the Center for Crop Diversification has created a Marketing Package for growers to use during the month to celebrate.

This free Marketing Package includes:

  • Shareable and Customizable Images for #KYGrownCutFlowerMonth

  • Social Media post ideas

  • Sample Language for Your Farm Newsletter

  • Cut Flower Resources Available Online

  • & more!

Throughout the month, we would love your help in publicizing the benefits of growing and purchasing locally grown flowers in Kentucky. While most of the Marketing Package is grower-facing, the Shareable & Customizable images (images + captions) can be used by anyone to share online during the month to celebrate. A link to the Canva template can be found here: https://www.canva.com/design/DAGrXSQ9jBo/K0E7OPk8qbR_AnbXSjeDKQ/view?utm_content=DAGrXSQ9jBo&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink&mode=preview. We hope you celebrate with us!
